We’re looking for an Account Director (PR) to join the Brand Narrative team. This person is a natural born leader with a desire for doing big things in a team environment. You’re not satisfied with the status quo, and you’re always looking for new and innovative approaches to PR. You love to dig into strategy equally as much as pitching in with your team to get amazing work out the door. You’re able to anticipate issues and quickly implement fixes. You’ve got a strong knowledge of the media landscape, and you know how to launch an idea into the world for maximum impact. You have a glowing track record of building great relationships with your clients, colleagues, the press, and influencers, and can gain their trust easily. You have the ability to manage day-to-day teams of PR Coordinators, Specialists, and Managers through creating, iterating, and executing innovative and impactful integrated PR plans, and have a knack for building the right processes. You pride yourself on your responsiveness, and self responsibility. You’re able to foster a healthy team environment for creative work and strategic thinking. You’re invested in the growth and development of your team, as their success is your success. And of course, you love the written word.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Working closely with the national PR team to grow and shape our client offerings and team. 
  • Leading and fostering relationships with some of our biggest PR clients.
  • Leading teams to take care of the day-to-day PR needs of multiple clients, including overseeing media monitoring and trend reporting, and leading issues communications.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting, including the early diagnosis of potential issues.
  • Management and mentorship of junior team members. 
  • Pitching PR capabilities and strategic opportunities as part of business development efforts.
  • Champion creative thinking with our clients while ensuring the work connects back to strategy.
  • Collaborating with Rethink Brand Narrative, Strategy, Creative, and Account teams to find strategic ways to amplify creative campaigns.
  • Suggesting new processes, systems and tools to enhance our services.
  • Revenue tracking, day-to-day client management and onboarding of new clients

What you’ll bring…

  • 8+ years of industry experience.
  • A passion for continuing to grow your craft.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Solid leadership and decision making on highly creative or complex integrated PR and marketing campaigns.
  • A strong understanding of the Canadian media landscape.
  • An understanding of integrated earned and social media campaign needs related to platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.
  • Relationships –  you’ve got solid relationships in the industry, and you’re good at building new ones.
